SANDY BANKS OF RUSH, THE. AKA and see "Moorish Donnivan's Reel," "New Scotch Dance," "Races of Granard (The)." Irish, Reel. D Major. Standard tuning (fiddle). ABB. The reel can be found in music manuscripts in both England and Ireland under the alternate titles, however, researcher Conor Ward finds a cognate, and perhaps precursor, melody in Alexander's (c. 1825), under the title "Moorish Donnivan's Reel."
