"The Scoulding Pair" was first published in London music publisher John Walsh's Second Book of the Compleat Country Dancing Master, 3rd edition (c. 1735, p. 59), followed by a printing in Daniel Wright's Wright's Compleat Collection of Celebrated Country Dances (c. 1740--dates vary--, p. 63, published in London by John Johnson). Walsh also printed the tune in subsequent publications, including The Third Book of the Compleat Country Dancing-Master (c. 1735) and The Second Book of the Compleat Country Dancing Master, 3d edition (1749).
