"Sir Harry Flutter" is a country dance tune composed by the remarkable ex-African slave, wikipedia:Ignatius_Sancho (1729-1780), who published it in London in his collection of 1769. Sir Harry Flutter was one of the main characters in wikipedia:Francis_Sheridan's (1724-1766) comedy The Discovery, which premiered in 1763. Flutter was a foolish, temperamental, newly married man who was continually indulging in battles of wit with his wife.
