SKIP ROPE [1]. American, Clog (whole time). D Major ('A' part) & A Major ('B' part). Standard tuning (fiddle). AABB. It is possible the tune was connected with a variety dance act in which a performer danced a clog while skipping rope. There were many such hornpipe and clog dance oddities on stage during the 1870’s and 1880’s.
