SLÁN BEO. FAREWELL. Irish, Slow Air (3/4 time). F Major. Standard tuning (fiddle). One part. "Slán beo" (farewell) was collected in 1853 by Irish musicologist P.W. Joyce who transcribed it from the singing of a national schoolmaster, a native of Kerry. Unfortunately, Joyce could not find the words among his papers, nor could he recall the name of the teacher, which was written along with the song.
