SMOLANACH. AKA - "When I was a Maiden." Scottish, Reel (cut time). A Major. Standard tuning (fiddle). AAB (Kerr): AABB' (Athole). The reel was first published by piper William Gunn in his Caledonian Repository of Music (1848) under the title "When I was a Maiden," by which it was recorded by Cape Breton's expatriates the Five MacDonald Fiddlers and guitarist Dave MacIsaac.
