SPORT [1], THE. AKA – “Sanriar abhog a Fiannach.” Scottish, Strathspey (whole time). E Minor. Standard tuning (fiddle). AABBCCDD. John Glen (1891) finds the earliest appearance of the tune in print in Angus Cumming's 1780 collection (p. 10). The alternate title printed in Cumming's volume, "“Sanriar abhog a Fiannach," may be a corrupted rendering of the Scots Gaelic s'ann riarachadh a Fiannach (in the serving of the warrior Fiannach)[1].
