ST. MUNGO'S WELCOME TO SCOTT SKINNER. Scottish, March (4/4 time). A Major. Standard tuning (fiddle). AABCCD. Composed by Scots fiddle-composer wikipedia:James_Scott_Skinner (1843-1927), apparently (from a note printed underneath the tune) in recognition of his appearance at the Celtic Tournament at Glasgow, 4th Nov. 1889. Little seems to have been recorded about the event Skinner cites.

Kentigern, known as Mungo, was a missionary in the Brittonic Kingdom of Strathclyde in the late sixth century, and the founder and patron saint of the city of Glasgow. Mungo is supposedly buried at the site of the cathedral in the city. There is also a St. Mungo's Academy, a Catholic school run by the Marist order, which might have a connection with the tournament Skinner cited.
