"Steamboat Waltz" was one of the staple tunes of Boston music publisher Elias Howe, included often in his various collections throughout the 19th century. The title appears in a repertoire list of Norway, Maine, fiddler Mellie Dunham. The elderly Dunham was Henry Ford's champion fiddler in the late 1920's.
