Standard tuning (fiddle). AABB. The tune, as "Summer in Ireland, was recorded in New York, in 1927, by fiddler Joe Tansey who was born at Calteraun, Gurteen, Co. Sligo. Tansey received tutelage in fiddling with his brother Bernie at the Jamesie Coleman music hall in Killavil in the early 1900s. He emigrated to New York in the early 1900s and quickly became a fixture of the Irish diaspora musical scene in the city in the early 20th century.
