TAKE ME RIGHT. English, Jig (6/8 time). G Major. Standard tuning (fiddle). AABB. The melody was originally published in Charles and Samuel Thompson’s third country dance collection (London, 1773). “Take Me Right” is one of the "missing tunes" from William Vickers' 1770 Northumbrian dance tune manuscript. It was penned into the 1788 music copybook of fiddlers John and William Pitt Turner (Norwich, Conn.), as were numerous tunes from the Thompson’s 1773 collection.
