TEARS OF CALEDONIA, THE. Scottish, Air (whole time). D Minor. Standard tuning (fiddle). AAB. The tune is in the vain of "Roslyn Castle." Composer Allan Masterton was a teacher of writing at the High School of Edinburgh and was an intimate "friend and crony" of poet Robert Burns, according to John Glen[1]. He was the Allan of Burns' song "Willie brewed a peck o' maut."
