TENNESSEE WALTZ [1]. AKA and see "Wednesday Night Waltz." American, Waltz (3/4 time). D Major ('A' part) & G Major ('B' part). Standard tuning (fiddle). AB. "Tennessee Waltz [1]" bears a close resemblance to “Wednesday Night Waltz.” The second strain is essentially the same as the first, transposed to to the key of 'G'. The waltz was recorded in Johnson City, Tennessee, in 1928 for Columbia records by the east Tennessee band the Roane County Ramblers, featuring Jimmy McCarroll on fiddle.
