TETE-A-TETE HORNPIPE. American, Hornpipe. G Major. Standard tuning (fiddle). AABB. William Bradbury Ryan, editor of Ryan's Mammoth Collection (1883), credits the composition to Harry Carleton, whose name receives composer credits to several tunes in the collection. No information on Carleton has surfaced, and he may have been a journeyman musician and composer attached to the Elias Howe music publishing company (whom Ryan worked for), or perhaps the name was a pseudonym.
