Paul de Grae writes that O'Neill's "Tip the Crusikeen" is an exact transposition of Belfast collector Edward Bunting's "Irish Jigg/Irish Jig (7)," save for the key ('A' from 'A Flat'). He also finds Boston publisher Elias Howe's "Limerick Races (2)" to similarly be an nearly exact transposition, albeit from 'A Flat' to 'B Flat', and O'Farrell's "Trip up Stairs (1)" a transposition to the key of 'G'. Finally, de Grae cites O'Neill's own "Trip it up Stairs (1)" as a variant setting (in 'G'), although he believes the source for it is from R.M. Levey's first collection[1].
