Composed by the Cape Breton fiddler and composer wikipedia:Jerry_Holland_(musician) (1955-2009) at the request of musician Denis Ryan (see also “Farewell to Ryan’s Fancy”). Ryan and Holland played together at the University of Limerick in 1997, as part of a concert commemorating the 800th anniversary of the charter of the city of Limerick [Cranford].
