TOD'S ASSEMBLY. AKA – “Todd’s Assembly.” English, Country Dance Tune (6/8 time). England, Northumberland. F Minor (Vickers, Walsh): G Minor (Barnes, Johnson). Standard tuning (fiddle). AABB. The tune was printed in several of the publications of London music publishers John Walsh (Caledonian Country Dances. Book the Second, 1737, and Compleat Country Dancing-Master. Volume the Sixth, c. 1754) and John Johnson (Wrights Compleat Collection of Celebrated Country Dances, vol. 2, 1742, and 'Choice Collection of 200 Favourite Country Dances, vol. 2, after c. 1750). It was also entered into the large 1770 music manuscript collection of Northumbrian musician William Vickers, and, in Liege, Belgium, in Benoit Andrez' Recueil de Contredances Angloises (1780, p. 29).
