TRIANGLE BLUES. American, Blues or Country Rag. B Flat Major. Standard tuning (fiddle). AABB. "Triangle Blues" was recorded by the Roanoke Jug Band (1926-33) for OKeh Records in 1929 (one of only four sides they made for the label). The members are fiddle Billy Altizer on fiddle, Walter Keith on banjo, Mahlon Overstreet and Ray Barger on guitar, and Richard Mitchell on mandolin. Despite the band's name, there were no jugs played on any of the recordings, although a jug appears as a prop on the floor in their publicity photo. The band played on WDBJ radio, Roanoke County, Virginia.
