TRIP TO MARTINICO, A. English, Country Dance Tune (cut time). A Major. Standard tuning (fiddle). AA’BB’. Martinico = Martinique. The melody is unique to London publisher Charles and Samuel Thompson’s 1765 country dance collection. It should perhaps be considered a companion tune to another referning the West Indies in the Thompson’s volume, “Trip to Guadaloup (A).”
