Joe Pancerzewski learned this tune around 1931 from Chet Hawley, who was from Tulsa, Oklahoma, at Elvy Osborne's barbershop in Minot, North Dakota. Elvy was a good fiddler, and his barbershop was jam session central for fiddlers.
