"Uncle Mitt" is a breakdown unique to the repertoire of fiddlerLonnie Seymour (1922-2002), of Chillicothe, Ross County, insouth-central Ohio). He was a mentor of musician and collector Jeff Goehring, sponsored by the Traditional and Ethnic Arts Apprenticeship Program of the Ohio Arts Council. Seymour came from a family of fiddlers, including his grandfather and father, and an uncle. In the late 1940's he played with a square dance band, the Ross County Farmers, who broadcast over WBEX in Chillicothe [1].
