UP SLIGO [2]. AKA and see "Castlebar Races." Irish, Jig (6/8 time). G Major. Standard tuning (fiddle). The second in the pair of jigs recorded under the single title “Up Sligo” in New York by County Sligo fiddler Michael Coleman (1891-1945) in 1924. The melody is a version of “Geese in the Bog (2).” The first tune in Coleman's set is also known as "Unfortunate Rake (1) (The)" AKA "Basket of Turf" (See "Up Sligo (1)).
