VAIL'S BREAKDOWN. Canadian, Breakdown. G Major. Standard tuning (fiddle). AABB. The tune was first recorded by Don Messer and His Islanders in the 1940's, and re-recorded several times in subsequent years. It was one of the staple dance tunes Messer and his band played for dances.
