VALSE CREOLE (Creole Waltz). Cajun, Waltz. USA, Louisiana. A Major. Standard tuning (fiddle). One part. The word 'Creole', notes Raymond Francois (1990), originally denoted those born in the Acadian colony in Louisiana. In modern times the word is used by blacks of French ancestry, while whites of similar background call themselves Cajun (from Acadian, though once it was a derogatory term).
