Annotation:Wandering Girl
Back to Wandering Girl
WANDERING GIRL. English, Jig. D Major. Standard tuning (fiddle). AABB. The melody (which may be a song air) appears in the 1840 music manuscript collection of John Rook, of the Waverton, Cumbria, area. The tune sounds as if it may be a song air, and there was a broadside ballad called "The Wandering Girl; or, The Bud of Rose" [1], but whether there is any congruence with Rook's melody is unknown.
