WAPPINSCHAW, THE. Scottish, Reel. D Minor. Standard tuning (fiddle). AAB. A Wappinschaw, or Wappenshaw, was a Scottish term in the early 16th century for a muster of men and armour, but by the mid-19th cemtury came to mean a volunteer rifle meeting. Currently there is an event in Glasgow called Wappinshaw that entails wargaming.
