WASHING DAY [2]. English, Morris Dance Tune (6/8 time). A Flat Major. Standard tuning (fiddle). AB. The tune accompanys a strick dance from the Cotswold village of Adderbury, Oxfordshire. These words are sung during the dance:

Thump! Thump! Scrub! Scrub! Scrub, scrub away!
The devil a bit of peace I git upon the washing day!
