WATERFORD SPECIAL, THE. American, Reel. USA, southwestern Pa. C Major. Standard tuning (fiddle). AB. The tune was given the name by the source forWaterford County, Pa., "where three out of five plays the fiddle." Bayard (1981) thinks that Christeson's (1973) "Lost Indian (4)" is a version, "also, the second part [of Waterford Special] appears as the third part pf a tune in Elias Howe's Diamond School for the Violin, p. 47.
