WAVERLY STEPS, THE. AKA and see "Holyrood House (2)." Scottish, Reel. D Major. Standard tuning (fiddle). AAB. The composition is credited to "R. Black" on accordion player Jimmy Shand's 1954 Parlophone recording (F. 3489). The late 19th century Waverley Steps exit from Waverley Rail Station next to the Balmoral Hotel, with an entrance on Princes Street. They were reconstructed in 2012 and are now covered by a glass and steel canopy.
