WAY OF THE WORLD, THE. English, Country Dance and Jig (6/8 ti me). G Major. Standard tuning (fiddle). AABB. The tune takes its name from the play The Way of the World  by English playwright William Congreve  (1670–1729). It premeiered in London in 1700 in the theater in Lincoln's Inn Fields.
