WAY OF THE WORLD, THE. English, Country Dance and Jig (6/8 ti me). G Major. Standard tuning (fiddle). AABB. The tune takes its name from the play The Way of the World [1] by English playwright William Congreve [2] (1670–1729). It premeiered in London in 1700 in the theater in Lincoln's Inn Fields.
