WEDDING RING [1], THE. AKA and see "Mrs. Nicol's Fancy." AKA - "Port na Fainne." Scottish, Reel. G Minor. Standard tuning (fiddle). AB (Cole, Howe): AAB (Athole, Fraser, Gow, Kerr, Laybourn). The tune was remodeled by Capt. Simon Fraser: "The Wedding Ring is framed by the editor, from a very imperfect melody, and fancied by the lady whose name it bears, to whom he wishes every connubial comfort" (Fraser).
