WELLINGTON’S BUGLE. English, Jig. D Major. Standard tuning (fiddle). AABBCC. One of many tunes patterned after the intervals of a bugle to imitate martial music. The title, of course, honors the Duke of Wellington, victor at Waterloo. Gibbons originally set the tune in the key of ‘C’ major, and the tune seems to be unique to his collection.
