WHAT’S THAT TO YOU? English, Jig. B Flat major. Standard tuning. AABB. This melody, like many in Charles and Samuel Thompson’s 1757 collection, first appeared in John Johnson’s 200 Favourite Country Dances, vol. 7 (London, 1756). There are other, different, tunes by this title in 18th century collections, as well as a song in James Johnson's Scots Musical Museum (from the pen of Thomas D'Urfey (1653-1723), modified somewhat by Allan Ramsay according to Stenhouse, who directed it be sung to the tune of "Glancing of her apron (The)").
