WHEN DAFFODILS BEGIN TO PEER. English, Air (6/8 time). D Major. Standard tuning (fiddle). AAB. The tune appears in Caulfield with no source or credit given, though it is attributed to Dr. Boyce (1710-1719) by Baring Gould. It is the first song sung by the ballad monger Autolycus in Shakespeare's Winter's Tale (act IV, scene 3).
