WILD IRISH [2]. American, Reel. B Flat Major. Standard tuning (fiddle). AABB. The composition is credited to G.L. Tracy in Ryan’s Mammoth Collection (1883). George Lowell Tracy (1855-1921) was a young man at the time Ryan’s Mammoth Collection was published. Later he composed light opera and composition books, according to musicologist Charles Wolfe. Ryan's reel is neither of the "Wild Irishman" tunes, but the title reflects centuries of the adjective 'wild' being used to describe the irish.
