WILHELMINE'S ROSE. Canadian, Waltz (3/4 time). Canada, Ontario. D Major. Standard tuning (fiddle). AA'BB'. "Wilhemine's Rose" was composed in 1979 by fiddler and Ontario Provincial Police Officer Don Pettigrew, who used to compete in the Perth, Ontario, fiddle contest. It is often locally paired with another of Pettigrew’s waltzes, “Sheguiandah Bay,” the Lake Huron local where Wilhemine ran a tourist camp.
