WINETAVERN STREET. Irish, Jig (6/8 time). D Major. Standard tuning (fiddle). AABB. Winetavern Street is located in the city of Dublin and takes its name from the fact that it was originally occupied by keepers of wine-taverns and other drinking establishments. The pub that claims to be the oldest pub in Ireland, the Brazen Head, dating from the 16th century, is located nearby, about a quarter of a mile away in Bridge Street. Christ Church Cathedral is on the corner of Winetavern and Christchurch Place.
