WINTERBOURN FROLICK. English, Jig and Country Dance Tune (12/8 time). A Major. Standard tuning (fiddle). AABBCC. The tune, with directions for a country dance, was entered into the music manuscript book of musician Walter Rainstorp, who inscribed his name on the cover and noted that he purchased his copybook in Cheapside, London, in 1747. The title may refer to Winterbourne, a large village in South Gloucestershire, England.
