WOBBLY EARS. AKA - "Wobble Gears." AKA and see "Cincinnati Hornpipe (1)." American, Hornpipe or Reel. The title for the tune usually known as "Cincinnati Hornpipe" was "Wobbly Ears" or "Wobble Gears" in Missouri, according to John Hartford (informed by Dr. James Gray). The tune shares melodic motifs with the "Harvest Home (1)," family of hornpipes that includes "Fisherman's Favorite," "Wooden Shoe Clog," "Wilson's Clog (1)," "Fred Wilson's Clog" and other titles. There actually is a 'wobble gear', a wobbling pin gear mechanism.
