Additional notes

Source for notated version: - William Litten's c. 1800-1802 music manuscript collection [Huntington]. Litten was a ship's fiddler with the East India fleet from 1800-1802. His manuscript came into the possession of a seaman from Edgartown, Martha's Vineyard, Massachusetts, Allen Coffin (b. 1788), who brought it home with him after his own voyages to the East. Where and how he obtained it, or whether Coffin was a musician himself is unknown, and there is scant record of him in Martha's Vineyard.
