WOOLY AND GREGORY. AKA - "Woolly and Gregory." English, Country Dance Tune (3/4 time). G Major. Standard tuning (fiddle). AB. The tune was first printed in Henry Playford's Dancing Master, 11th edition [1] (1701) and was retained in subsequent editions of the long-running series through the 18th and final edition of 1728. It was also printed by rival London publisher John Walsh in his Compleat Country-Dancing Master, editions of 1719, 1731 and 1754, and in Walsh's Compleat County Dancing Master, Volume the Fourth (c. 1740).
