Biographical notes

The Chevaliers du folklore was a group originally consisting of accordion player Tommy Duchene (1909-1986), fiddler Albert Allard and guitarist Tony Ouellette, who recorded from 1935 for Starr Records in Montreal. Duchesne had a long and successful career, appearing on numerous CKAC broadcasts. His program "Tommy Duchesne et ses Chevaliers" ran throughout World War II, from 1939 to 1945, and featured an expanded lineup of musicians. In early 1957, he appeared every Saturday noon with his Chevaliers du Québec on "Samedi terroir," broadcast on CJMS. Duchesne recorded into the mid-1970's on the Bonanza label.
