DAVID POWER. Irish, Air or Planxty (whole time). F Major. Standard tuning (fiddle). AB. Composed by blind Irish harper Turlough O'Carolan (1670-1738). O'Sullivan (1958) identifies the person named in the title as David Power of Coorheen House, on the shore of lake Louhgrea, County Galway. O'Carolan also composed tunes for Power's wife and daughter (see "Mrs. Power"/"Carolan's Concerto" and "Fanny Power", two of his most celebrated compostions.
