GOLDEN VALE, THE ("Gleann na N-oir" or "Gleann an Oir"). Irish, Hornpipe. D Major. Standard tuning (fiddle). AABB. The Golden Vale is a flat limestone plain in County Tipperary and eastern Limerick. It is a huge tract of farming land, famously fertile, bounded by the Comeragh and Galtee Mountains and the Glen of Aherlow.
