MRS. FULLARTON OF FULLARTON. Scottish, Jig (6/8 time). F Major. Standard tuning (fiddle). AAB. John Glen (1891) finds the earliest printing of this tune in Ayrshire fiddler-composer biography:John Riddell's 1766 collection (p. 22), and it was reprinted in his second 1782 collection.

William Fullarton of Fullarton devoted his attention to the study of agricultural science and greatly improved his estate, while maintaining keen interests in cultivated gardening and botany. In 1745 he built the house of Fullarton. When he died in 1758 he was succeeded by his five year old son, Colonel William Fullarton of Fullarton (1754–1808) who became a famed soldier, statesman, agriculturalist and author. Since Colonel William did not marry until 1792, Riddell's tune title can only refer to his mother, whose name is not recorded.
