MISS DOUGLAS OF BRIGTON. AKA and see "Lady Harriot Hay's Strathspey," "Brechin Castle." Scottish, Reel or Strathspey. B Flat Major. Standard tuning (fiddle). AABB. The melody was published under this title in Malcolm McDonald's 1792 3rd Collection, dedicated to Miss Drummond of Perth. The melody underwent some title changes: first by Robert Petrie in his 1796 collection (“Lady Harriot Hay”), then by Nathaniel Gow in 1799 (“Brechin Castle”).
