JACK DELAD. French-Canadian, Reel (cut time). A Major. AEae tuning (fiddle). AA'BB'. The 'B' part is twice the length (16 measures) than the first. "Jack Delad" is a Québécois variant of the "Four Hand Reel (1) (The)/Five Mile Chase (1)" tune family, which also includes the Quebec "Reel de Tadoussac (2)" and "Gigue de l'épluchette," recorded in 1943 by Jean-Ludger Foucault. The title, "Jack('s) the Lad" in English, is unrelated to the tune that usually is known by that name.
