CAHILL'S COURTSHIP (Suiride Uí Catail). Irish, Reel (cut time). D Major. Standard tuning (fiddle). AB (O'Neill/1850): AABB' (O'Neill/Krassen). The tune is unique to the O'Neill collections.

Source for notated version: - "Cahill" [O'Neill]. Probably an attribution to Chicago Police Sergeant James Cahill, a native of Kildare. Cahill was a piper and pipe-maker and made a number of fine instruments from the workshop in back of his house in the city.
