GETTING UP THE STAIRS. American, Reel (cut or 2/4 time). A Major. AEae tuning (fiddle). AA'BB'. Some similarities to Edden Hammond's "Sugar in the Gourd." The tune was used in the 1991 film Doc Hollywood, starring Michael J. Fox, as part of the soundtrack.
