COME UNDER MY DIMITY. AKA and see "B'fhearr liomsa ainnir gan guna," "Ditherum Doodle," "I'll Take a Glass with a Friend," "Late on a Saturday Night," "Mall Rua," "Moll Roe in the Morning," "Moll Roe's (1)," "Munsterman's Flattery," "Night of the Fun (3) (The)," "Though late was I plump." Irish, Jig. D Major. Standard tuning (fiddle). AABB. See also the slip jig "Captain McDonald's Favorite." New York researcher, musician and writer Don Meade says: "Dimity was a coarse cotton fabric most often used for bed clothes, which makes [the title] a coarse invitation." The tune is oddly-metered in Ryan's/Cole's: it should be in 9/8 time as it is clearly a slip jig.
